I will be running a short series about what it is like to come out and tell your family and friends that you are gay/bisexual in today's society, this extracts were written by 2 young men and a young lady!! I would love it if many of you would show your support and follow their journey

Coming out can be as different an experience as each person's personality. For me it was not an easy experience, mostly for me rather than anyone else in my family or my close knit group of friends. I was uneasy at the thought of my family and friends knowing my sexuality because I'm from an area where being gay is not socially acceptable. The embrace I got from them was very unusual but was very welcoming and unexpected by me because my mindset and the people surrounding me made it seem like it was wrong to be involved with someone of my own gender. -M

I am still discovering my sexuality and as a newly bisexual person I feel like I have to fully figure myself out before I come out to anyone other than my best friend. Telling her was a weird experience because she was weirdly accepting of the situation. She was really excited to be the first person I told. It made my day to be accepted by her and have the support of a friend in my journey into discovering myself. -Q

I am still so scared to tell everyone who I really am. Everyday I wake up and think today is the day I can do it. Life can be very lonely when you can not express yourself in the way you want. I do not want who I really am to be a secret, I know with Carol Mary's help I can overcome my fear. She has shown me that the world is not as scary as I think. I know that there are still people out there who think "people like me are wrong". That they can change who we are. It is not a choice. It is me, I am a lesbian. - L x

Great work! I have a couple friends that are lesbian or bisexual and it is an act of bravery even in this millenia to talk about it.

As a straight female I applaud anyone who can be open with their sexuality as much as a straight person can admit they like kinky stuff (still considered immoral)

One day we can hope that it will no longer be considered immoral. We are slowly getting there.

My own niece has struggled with her sexuality for the last couple of years. Sometimes when we feel we are born into a world we don't quite fit into is because we are meant to make our own. When we learn to love ourselves as we are fully, embrace our own strength and bravery and drop all labels society tends to put on us and we tend to put on ourselves, then we come to realize that the only thing left is Love..Love no matter what. I wish them all the love and luck in the world! Loved this post!

my son is gay...and we share such a close bond. hes like no other. how does it matter when you love someone.

Congrats to you all for your strength and perseverance. I met Dan Sophomore year of high school and he was drawn to me for whatever reason. Dan was just 12 and a bit of genius so that is why he was able to skip all those grade in school. One day during lunch he decided he needed to share "His Secret" with me, but before he could tell me, I told told him I always new he was gay and it did not matter. ( To this day he remains the most perverted Gay man I have ever met and I have met a lot of gay men lol)

My nephew came out many years ago to me first.I have told him and anyone else that has a problem with it to look at it this way…we are all just spirits/souls living in flesh suits..one soul meets another and falls in love forget about the human flesh suit that is just this particular incarnation..souls recognize each other and no matter what we all want love.I believe we all reincarnate over and over again so we have been either gender through the ages.
